I want to know, do you have a favorite outfit that you like to wear? Do you have something, some clothes that you really like? I wore my favorite dress today and I really like this dress because it doesn’t make me look too fat and it’s green and green is my favorite color. I just really like this dress. It’s comfortable and I can move around in it. I really like to wear this dress. This is probably my favorite dress of all times. We all have some clothes that we feel really good in and when you go to school or when you go to church you want to choose some clothes that look nice. You don’t want to pick out something from the dirty clothes hamper, right? That would be stinky, wouldn’t it? You don’t want to do that. You want to wear some nice clothes. Did you know that the Bible tells us what kind of clothes we should wear? Not really the color pants or shirts that we should wear but I want to read a bible verse to you that talks about what the bible says about what we should wear. In the Bible it says, “Therefore as God’s chosen people clothe yourself with compassion. I have a coat right here that has all the things that we are going to talk about written on it.

Compassion means that you have feelings for others. Like if you saw somebody that had a poor sick puppy and they were crying about their puppy, wouldn’t you feel kind of sorry for them? That’s compassion. The Bible wants us to clothe ourselves with compassion. The next thing I have written on my coat is...

We’re supposed to be kind to one another. And then there’s this word, right here.

Humility. Humility means we don’t put ourselves above others. You know when we were serving each other in Sunday School this morning? We were serving each other. What did we serve each other?

Ian

Cookies.

Leader

We served each other some cookies. And we gave each other napkins and we were serving one another in love. It also says that we’re supposed to have this word. Can you read this one? Can you read that?

Ian

Gentleness.

Leader

Gentleness. We’re not supposed to be mean. We’re supposed to be loving. And this one too, Ian. Can your read this one?

Ian

Patience.

Leader

Patience. We’re supposed to be patient with one another and then, Ian, the very last one going up and down on this side. Can you read that?

Ian

Forgiving attitude.

Leader

A forgiving attitude. But you know what? I’ve got on my coat but I’m going to put on the most important part of our clothing when we go out and we see other people and we want them to know that we’re Christians. Look at the hat that I have. What does it say?

Ian

Love.

Leader

It says love. When we go out we should worry about looking nice. Our clothes looking nice, but what we should worry about the most is that our attitude is nice towards others. Let’s have a word of prayer, ready? Dear Jesus. Please help us to love one another.
